Coke is an important fuel for the blast furnace molten iron, cupola furnacemelting iron, ferroalloy smelting and nonferrous metal smelting. The productionprocess of coke is very complex, and coke production is one of the importantlinks, it can directly affect the quality of coke. When the coking work is over,the coke pushing machine, coke-barrier vehicle and quenching car must becoordinate with each other to complete the work that coke is pushing out of thecoke oven. Therefore, the research of the problem of the three big focal vehiclechain controlling is the key of the process of the coking production.In this paper,a study was conducted on the oven-number identificationproblem of the coke pushing machine, coke-barrier vehicle and quenching car,the problem of the data communication between each coke car and the problemof remote monitoring on computer and a simple set of the interlocking device ofthree coke car was designed. As well as the following researching work wasfinished.Based on analyzing and studying the process of the coking production, a setof design scheme on locomotive interlocking device of coke-oven plant wasmade up. Using IPC as the host computer and PLC as the slave computer, it is torealize the function of controlling and monitoring the whole deviceAccording to the functional requirement of the locomotive chain of thecoking plant, the hardware structure of the whole device is designed, includingthe oven number identification device, the data transmission device and theHuman Machine Interface display device. Based on the reliability and safetyprinciple of the locomotive chain device, it carries out the selection of hardwareof the PLC, Radio Frequency Identification device, digital transmitter-receiverand HMI compact series panel. The PLC and HMI compact series panel wereconfigured and programed using TIA Protal V11programming software. Theprogram of Radio Frequency Identification reader reading the oven number andthe communication program between PLC and the Radio FrequencyIdentification device via RS-485serial port were designed. The control program of data transmission between PLC and the digital transmitter-receiver viaRS-232serial port was also finished.The upper computer software which is used to monitor remotely the wholethree coking car chain device is developed using WinCC. The configurationscreen of the host computer was designed, including the main screen of thethree-car interlock device, the alarm screen, the report form screen, theparameter settings screen and the coke car location screen. The Ethernetcommunication between WinCC in the host computer and the slave computerPLC is realized by OPC server. The design of the whole device is simple, itsperformance is reliable, and it is easy to be put into actual production.
