With the Intelligent development of people’s lives, the traditional detectionmethods which is time-consuming and laborious (such as family, medical careand warehouse method) have been unable to meet people’s requirement. Andwith the rapid development of Micro-Electro-Mechanism system, system on chip,wireless communication and low power embedded technology, wireless sensornetworks emerged, and attracted worldwide attentions. Wireless sensor networkhas the unique superiority of large scale, low power consumption, low cost andcloser communication distance advantages, which meet intelligent monitoringrequirements of people well.This thesis uses ZigBee technology to design a real-time monitoringsolution for wireless sensor networks. According to the application requirementsof real-time monitoring system, designing the network composition of wirelesssensor network, transmission protocol and the data processing, all of those aremore intelligent and easier to apply than before.This thesis introduces the development and application prospect of wirelesssensor networks and ZigBee technology. Directed towards ZigBee technology,introduce its principles, structural features and service standards in detail, andpropose the overall structure of wireless sensor networks that used for real-timemonitoring, This thesis designs the hardware circuit and the software platform,the hardware circuit is for ZigBee single node in the overall composition andvarious components of the circuit design, including circuit designing of sensor,microcontroller, power circuit, and the serial interface circuit design. Thebuilding of software platform mainly consists of the lower and upper two parts,the lower machine contain ZigBee coordinator, router and terminal equipment start-up procedures, and application task program, environment temperaturecollection procedures and chip power supply voltage acquisition program. Thereis a LabVIEW monitoring program in the host computer, getting machinetransmission temperature voltage data through the serial communication, anddisplay the data of every node in the network by real-time. Through thetemperature and voltage, we can prove that: The system achieves all the designrequirements. When some node in the network is power off, the system canrecover through self-organization mode. It proves that the network has thecharacter of strong robustness.
