In recent years, the agricultural scene environment information collection has reached the stage of autocontrol as agricultural modernization gathered pace in China. Environmental data can be automatically collected by sensor, then transmits to monitoring center over wireless network, not only could it reduces labor force but it could also improve crop’s quality and quantity.Wireless Sensor Networks are a high-profile new technology, it has been widely implemented in various fields of distributed data collection, and ZigBee for its close-up, low-power, low-rate and low cost, are often used in industrial control, environmental monitoring etc., so it is more suited to develop greenhouse environment monitoring system that ZigBee technology combined with WSN.Through a research in wireless sensor networks and ZigBee technology, a greenhouse environment monitoring system which is based on ZigBee technology is designed. This article presents the process of designing superior machine and lower computer software of environmental monitoring system, completed a observation system with data acquisition, wireless transmission, data display, storage and other functions. The system can automatically collect environmental data, sent information to the PC in monitoring center timely, the PC can be real-time displayed environment information on the interface and if the receiving data is abnormal, the system can take an alert. The user can grasp the greenhouse environmental information, making adjustments for abnormal environment, realized agriculture intelligentizationThe system’s hardware devices including the terminal node and the coordinator node, terminal node consist of temperature and humidity sensors, microcontroller and ZigBee modules, sensors are responsible for collecting environmental information, the microcontroller’s duty is processing and conversion information, ZigBee module is responsible for transmitting this node information or forwarding other nodes information to the coordinator node, while the coordinator node build the ZigBee network and sent the receiving data to the monitoring center’s PC through the RS232. System PC software development use Visual Basic.NET language and Access database system, the terminal nodes collected temperature and humidity information is real-time display on the interface, and stored the data to the database, thus achieved monitoring the greenhouse environmental.
