Wireless sensor networks and ZigBee technology are the research focus in recentyears, and there are more and more researches on theories and applications, especiallyin communications and industrial control areas and the applying cases are constantlyincreasing in these areas. Therefore, the application of ZigBee technology in wirelesssensor networks can reflect the characters and advantages of low power,low cost. Theresearch, development and application of wireless sensor networks based on ZigBeetechnology get attentions increasingly. On the other hand, with the appearance ofinternet of things and cyber physical systems, the future networks face the newchallenges. Both of them are strait in real time of networks, and they require thereal-time transmission of data and the real-time control to the networks especially incyber physical systems. The article carries out the study in the background.The paper summarizes and makes classifications on the real time routing protocolon the base of a lot of reading and research. Then a novel real-time routing protocolbasing on the location information and clustering technology is proposed. It concludesthe division of monitoring region, hybrid election of cluster head and dynamicaladjustment of transmission speed and so on. Besides, the flow of data packets isclassified to meet the real-time requirements. Finally, we make simulations andcomparisons. The results show that the protocol extends the network lifetime andrealizes the energy balance and better performance on real-time. In the following, in theZigBee wireless sensor networks, the author carries out the research on the routingprotocol in the complex mesh networks, and studies the two routing algorithms andmakes improvements. In ClusterTree algorithm, the author introduces the neighbor tableand studys the selection of nodes in neighbor table to help readers find a more optimalpath and reduce the data transmission delay. On the other hand, in AODVjr algorithm,the author takes the technique of ACK added and modifies the format of packets toreduce the counts of communication and simultaneously adds the record of path delay tocontrol the delay of data packet, and the propose of all these is to reduce delay of datatransmission. Finally, on the select strategy after the improvements, the paper takes ahybrid routing mechanism for ZigBee wireless sensor networks according to thedifference of data, and gives the description of routing process. At last, the author makessimulations to the two improved algorithms by OPNET software and makes analysis ofthe results. And the results show that the improvements of two algorithms both havebetter performance on end to end delay of the network and meet the real-timerequirements to some extent.
