Recent years have seen a rapid development in vocational education based on "work-integrated learning". Although teaching quality is crucial to vocational education, most vocational colleges have no rational teaching quality appraisal indicator system, let alone a teaching quality appraisal system. Under the climate of "work-integrated learning" in vocational education, it is necessary for vocational colleges to establish a scientific and feasible teaching quality appraisal indicator system integrating "work-integrated learning" features. Teaching quality appraisal system should be developed by quantifying appraisal indicators using computer technology.Analytic hierarchy process is used to develop the said system and evaluate teaching quality. First, a three-level indicator system is established, and Fuzzy Set Theory is used to quantify fuzzy and uncertain indicators. And then judgment matrix is established using analytic hierarchy process to calculate weighing coefficient. At last combination weight of appraisal indicators is evaluated. The system should be used by vocational colleges to exert its supervising, measuring, guiding and decision-making functions during the implement of "work-integrated learning" theory.Current status of the study of teaching quality appraisal indicator system and teaching quality appraisal system in vocational colleges is first outlined. The establishment of teaching quality appraisal indicator system is highlighted next. Designing and development of teaching quality appraisal system by using analytic hierarchy process is elaborated in the end. Main contents include:study of characteristics and modes of vocational education based on "work-integrated learning", exploration of how to establish a appraisal indicator system according with "work-integrated learning" characteristics, system frame and function block design through User Requirement Analysis, development of teaching quality appraisal system based on analytic hierarchy process.Applied to vocational colleges, the appraisal system under discussion is able to neutrally reveal various aspects of teaching quality so as to improve it, and to support decision-making in teaching management.
