Research And Realization Of Teaching Quality Evaluation System Based On Web Services

With the popularization of higher education in the country, the quality of teaching in colleges and universities become the focus of attentions with the rapid expansion. The quality of teaching is not only related to improving the quality of professional students, but also teachers and their professional growth and development are closely related. It is imperative to solve the problem that how to promote the establishment of a teaching quality evaluation system which suits for the situation of universities, assure the teaching quality, realize the self-monitoring and achieve a virtuous circle through the implementation of the universities themselves. Teacher Evaluation System is a significant part of the evaluation of teaching quality.Based on the basic theory and associated with the actual situation of my unit, a set of Web Application software was developed in this paper through using XML Web Services technology based on B/S mode. Client Sever uses browser to log in the net, that is, the all-level functions of entering the system can be realized. Server adopts Windows2000 Server (or Windows NT) as operating system and Web Sever uses IIS(Internet Service manager).Backward database adopts Microsoft Company's SQL Server 2000. The comprehensive evaluation of the teaching quality can be achieved online by the students, teachers, educational administration and all departments. The traditional method that students boxed the tables on paper was changed into a new automatic and real-time method. The outcome of the survey can be counted, analyzed, displayed, and printed. This system managed all of the evaluation data in a dynamic manner along with some kind of intelligent analysis function. At the same time consider the problems of reduce the data redundancy and effectively settle the problem with the aim of the coherence of data. In this system, the outcome was submitted in a way of software package which can be installed in the server of the teaching management department of the university and shared with the existing teaching management system.A scientific evaluation system for the teacher's teaching quality and effective operational mechanism established in this paper. And it has great significance to promote the teaching reform of universities and enhance the teaching quality with the system put into use.
