In recent years, China’s civil aviation industry has made a great development.However, the backward civil aircraft maintenance technology has seriously hamperedthe development of the aviation industry. The design and implementation of a portablemaintenance of assistive device can improve the efficiency of aircraft maintenance,and promote the further development of the civil aviation industry.PMA is mainly used in aircraft maintenance work site. On the one hand, thePMA provides the maintenance staff with interactive technical information to improvemaintenance efficiency; the other hand, the PMA can also provide remote maintenanceand fault diagnosis support for the maintenance staff.This paper put forward the overall architecture for PMA used in civil aircraft, aswell as hardware and software design. In order to reduce the difficulty of developmentand enhance the reliability of the system, the PMA hardware platform design in thispaper was divided into the core board of the system functions and external modulecircuit. Depending on the system functional requirements, the core board used the theOURS company’s OURS-PXA270RP core modules; the expansion of the peripheralmodules based on the core board included the power supply module, LCD modules,touch screen module, serial module, USB module, SD card module, LAN module andJTAG module. The design of the software included the operating system Windows CE6.0custom design and software modules design realizing aircraft auxiliarymaintenance functions. First of all, it introduced Windows CE6.0features anddevelopment process.Then, it customed the operating system and designed parts of thedevice driver. Finally, it described the development of software modules, datamanagement and synchronization, the IETM module, fault diagnosis module design,and gave details of the management of planned work orders.
