Environment is the material conditions and resources on which human relies forexistence and development. With the sustained and rapid economic development andgrowing population of China, survive environmental degradation has became anindisputable fact and a threat to our work, learning and life. To enhance theenvironmental monitoring and pollution control efforts, and make the environmentalpollution control effectively, we must take advantage of the state-of-the-art computertechnology, automatic control technology, and real-time communication networktechnology, and then establish a complete system of environmental monitoring.This issue comes from laboratory information management system, an informationconstruction projects of Guiyang Environmental Monitoring Center which undertake themonitoring work such as environmental quality, pollution emission and so on. As abarrier institution responsible for people’s lives and life safety, it has special significancefor the monitoring centre to develop a science, laboratory information managementsystem software to improve the efficiency and management level of the laboratory.Based on the analysis of the current situation of the domestic and internationallaboratory information management system and environmental monitoring networkstructure, and the In-depth study of the theory and the latest research results, this articlecommits to the implementation of the environmental monitoring laboratory informationmanagement system. This article sets systematic building goals according to theGuiyang Municipal Environmental Monitoring Center monitoring system status andenvironmental monitoring activities. Combined with the needs analysis of actualsituation of the profession and dissertation of system movement situation, the articlemakes a detailed description to the construction of the functional modules of the system,and finally designs a overall design and software design for Guiyang environmentalmonitoring laboratory information management system.The system uses the theories and methods of distributed object technology,application server and database server separation technology, bases on B/S structure, combines MS SQL server database also, to complete the required functions ofenvironmental monitoring laboratory information management system. In this system,the Windows operating system is the system platform, SQL database is the back-enddatabase for software system, and JSP is the dynamic client programming developmenttechniques, Tomcat is the background server. After compilation process, SSL moduleencrypts the system data, make the system safe.At present, the environmental monitoring laboratory information managementsystem has been implemented the environmental monitoring center in Guiyangsuccessfully. It standardized the business processes and laboratory management system,achieved the purpose of automated operation, information management and paperlessoffice, improved the quality data transfer speed, and sharing of resources, improved theefficiency of laboratory apparently.
