TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Address)technology is the mainstream standard of3G technology whose independent intellectualproperty is possessed by China.Although TD-SCDMA network has begun being constructed, much of them istheoretical research on the planning and design of wireless network coverage, and theexperience on practice and application is insufficient, especially the uniform planningand designing experience aiming at the characteristics of some regions is still needed tobe practiced and promoted.In such a background, according to the technological characteristics ofTD-SCDMA system, a more perfect planning and design process concerningTD-SCDMA system wireless network is put forward in this paper, and experimentshave been conducted and the availability of this process has been tested in YuchengDistrict Ya’an City. The following are the main contents of this paper:1. The theoretical analysis part: The crucial technology of TD-SCDMA referred toduring the planning and design is researched. Based on the experience of2G networkplanning, TD-SCDMA wireless network planning process is combed out. Meanwhile,the nuclear principles and algorithms used in the planning and design process are alsodiscussed.2. Engineering application and testing part: The TD-SCDMA wireless network inYucheng District Ya’an City is planned. The distribution positions of base stations inYucheng District are determined, according to the principles of simulation result andbase station setting. In the end, the network is optimized through road test.There are three aspects of results as follows concerning the research of this paper:1. A specific analysis has been made in this paper on the characteristics ofTD-SCDMA communication technology and the influence they have on the planningand design of wireless network. On the basis of the existing planning and design process,road test optimization is added, and the accuracy of TD-SCDMA network planning anddesign has been improved. 2. The planning and design of wireless network coverage is made according to theunique characteristics in the urban area of Yucheng District Ya’an City, such as long andnarrow territory, uneven distribution of population in the urban area, as well asaccording to the planning and designing process. This planning design tests thefeasibility of TD-SCDMA planning and designing process, and has a strong practicalguiding significance.3. This planning and design contents guide the operator to complete thepreliminary construction of TD-SCDMA wireless network’s coverage in YuchengDistrict Ya’an City.Through the construction of this planning and design, the size of TD-SCDMAnetwork will be expanded, and the quality of the network will be improved, which inreturn will further meet the users’ diversified demands and high speed data’srequirements, improve the capacity through which TD-SCDMA network serves thesociety as an infrastructure, and provide a good development foundation for ChinaMobile TD-SCDMA network’s commercial operation.
