TD-SCDMA standard, leadingly developed by the Chinese manufacturers, is the third-generation mobile communication standard, and is also the first independent intellectual property right of major mobile communication standard, owned by Chinese enterprise. The Guangdong Company will launch the TD-SCDMA wireless network planning in 19 cities, besides Guangzhou and Shenzhen. All the counties and cities in Guangdong province, and all the business regions which there are data services needed, will achieve full coverage by 2010.To ensure the project being constructed smoothly, network planning should be adequately programmed, which is an important instruction to the project. This study is combined with my job (Qingyuan Mobile TD Wireless Project Management). It bases on Qingyuan start-up TD-SCDMA network construction, relates to the practical application of network planning, according to Qingyuan TD-SCDMA network construction's characteristics. This study esearches, analyses and evaluates the Qingyuan Mobile TD-SCDMA network planning.This paper firstly describes the development of TD-SCDMA and its formation, and then TD-SCDMA systems, technical characteristics, and the key technology are described in detail. Secondly TD-SCDMA wireless network planning is briefly outlined. And after that, Qingyuan Mobile TD-SCDMA network planning is reasoned, and is researched and designed from the coverage, capacity, and other parameters. Then the TD-SCDMA wireless network planning method including link budget, slot planning, system capacity calculations, is brought forward. Aiming at Qingyuan TD-SCDMA wireless network planning and design, the wireless network simulation is designed by NPS, and simulation result is analysed and assessed. In conclusion, this paper expects the future development, and proposes future research directions.
