In the international academic community, HIS is recognized as an importantbranch of the emerging medical informatics, which bears the basic tasks of the hospitalmedical staff, clinic data, financial settlement, equipment and materialsmanagement.The ward physician work system in this paper is a subsystem of theHospital Information System, through the integration of database systems and networktechnology; it establishes a good medical environment to facilitate the ward physicianmanagement of inpatients.The paper first analyzes the status of HIS importance in the modern hospitalmanagement and the current domestic and international research in the field, and thenelaborated the definition and composition of the HIS, a brief review of the course ofdevelopment of the HIS, compared the advantages and disadvantages of each existingHIS and traditional the hospital labor management mode, and finally drawn theworkstation design target on the basis of summing up the current ward physicianworkstation development bottleneck.The paper focuses on the environment of ward management, combined withadvanced database management system, designed to fit in the hospital departments,general ward physician workstation. General ward physician workstation in this paperis designed for the basic unit of information to a single patient’s information and clinicsfor patients admitted to hospital for medical treatment.It includes patient admissionsmanagement module,discharge management module, doctor’s orders managementmodule, inspection applications module, surgery applications module,blood transfusionapplications module, medical records management module etc. Through the use of theworkstation, physician can detail records of inspection reports, medical advice,treatment tools and methods.In the development process of the workstation, the author uses the waterfallmodel and prototyping model combined system development methodology, and firstthrough research to determine the overall needs of the workstation and scope, and thenrefine the workstation business processes through the exchange of physician, and tphysiciandesign of the overall workstation based on the workstation businessprocesses, and finally design of the detailed design of the various functional modulesbased on the workstation overall design.During the workstation system concrete realization process, the author firstdesigned the multiple data tables which the workstaiton need in Microsoft SQL Server2005database management system platform, and then achieve each of the functionalmodules tier C/S architecture ideas and development environment based on MicrosoftVisual Studio2005, and finally repeated the test and refine the performance of theworkstation system.Physician through the use of the workstation inpatient medical information fullyand effectively manage not only shorten the time of first aid clinics, expert consultationalso convenient for the patient’s condition, so as to reduce the intensity of the work ofthe ward physician, and promote the digitization of the entire hospitalinformationprocess, to improve the overall hospital level of service and economic and socialbenefits.
