Design And Realization Of Doctor Workstation In HIS System

With the development of society, the business of the hospitals increases continuously and becomes more and more complicated, simple artificial management cannot satisfy its requirement. Hospital management informalization can not only promote the efficiency of the staffs' work and the medical treatment level, but also prove the service quality and management level of hospitals. So hospitals have strong requirements for management information system. Morris Collen, a famous American professor, who once gave a definition for the hospital information system (HIS) in 1988: Making use of computers and communication equipment, to provide each department in hospital with the diagnosis information of patients and the capability to collect, store, handle, extract and exchange data about the administration management, and it can also meets the functional needs of the authorized customers. The HIS software bases on the service system that concentrates on the patients and the management system that takes economic performance as core, the design of HIS software should firstly focus on the management model of hospital and then combines it with advanced new techniques, differing from other medical software which only emphasizes the progress of computer technique but neglects the important of hospital management model. This task is exactly under the circumstances that hospital informalization is developing rapidly ; it carries out a large-scaled HIS system at a hospital, makes the management of that hospital more normal and also provides a convenient platform for daily work of that hospital.This paper takes HIS system of Hubei Herbal Hospital as background, describing the design and implement of doctor workstation in detail. At first, it analyzes the definition of the hospital information system and the developing dynamic at home and abroad currently. It also introduces the current level, existent problem and the terminal goal of Hubei Herbal Hospital informalization. Second, we get a rational developing scheme through the analysis and comparison of developing model, tool and database management system. Hubei Herbal Hospital HIS system adopts the development mode of C/S, developing tool is PowerBuilder 9.0 which is an outstanding object-oriented development tool, and we choose SQL SERVER2000 as the background database management system. Third, we take doctor workstation as the primary study object, it starts from the current management model of doctor workstation in Hubei Herbal Hospital and introduces the design and implement of doctor workstation in detail. At the meanwhile it gives out the data flow chart of main function modules, design approaches and partial core procedures and emphasizes on design of the interface between the Hubei Herbal Hospital HIS system and the old charge system. As the operation and narcosis subsystem is a special branch of doctor workstation, also gives particular design ways and realization of the operation and narcosis subsystem. Besides, it discusses the realization process of general query function, and can deepen the learning about programming through making the functions which can be called frequently into a general module.At the end of this paper, it is my own experiences on the research and development of HIS system, including the summary of the development of Hubei Herbal Hospital HIS system, some suggestion and future outlook for that.
