In this paper, the45M long rotary calcining kiln of KE-AO Aluminum Company is taken as the research object. According to the structure and keystone of anticathode carbon calcining system, the complicated technical process and the current manu-operating status, a distributed system using computer supervisory system+PLC field level control system is adopted to realize the temperature measurement of the kiln body and the oxygen content in the residue output gas by infrared temperature instrument and oxygen gas analyzer. Basing on the relational parameters detected by the PLC sub-system, the flux automatic control of the direct cooling water for the calcined coke is completed by detecting the parameters, such as the temperature of the steam at the cooling kiln header, which is considered as the main parameter, and the calcined coke temperature, coke shape, environment temperature, etc, which are the auxiliary parameters. The detection of important parameters, such as the calcining zone length and position, are realized, which is tremendously significant to boost the reclaiming rate of the coke, to stabilize the quality of the production, to insure the safety, and to realize the producing automation.
