The surface mount machine can use its head to pick up the SMD, then move the head and put the SMD to the right position quickly. Based on the high speed surface mount machine, we need to design a PCB transport mechanism to enrich and perfect its relevant function. The design of a PCB transport mechanism is significant for high speed mounter, which can further improve the productivity of the high speed mounter. Resently the PCB transport mechanism of the low speed mounter and the middle speed mounter developed very well, we can design a PCB transport mechanism for high speed mounter by referencing the traditional PCB transport mechanism.The PCB transport mechanism usually consist of three parts:the department of board in,the department of mounting chips and the department of board out. The PCB transport mechanism of this text use a new double belt-delivered structure,at the same time,increase a department of mounting,so it saves subtly the time of locating and installing a PCB,achieving the head continuous work and improving the productivity. When designing the new PCB transport mechanism, we determine the overall frame firstly, then design the belt layout, finally we put our emphsis on the structure of the department of mounting chips.When we design the structure of the department of mounting chips, we mainly design the three mechanism and analysis them. To be the first place, according to the new structure of the PCB transport mechanism, we design up-down mechanism in order that the belts can coordinate their movements, o the PCB can be delievered smoothly from a place to another place. Then, we determine the program of positioning and clamping the PCB. According to the specific requirements, we design the clamp mechanism with the cylinder as drives and then we choose the right cylinder. Finally, we design the width-adjustment mechanism, in order to increase the capacity of the PCB transport mechanism and meet different sizes of PCB.When having completed the design of the structure, we analyzed electrical control system, and elaborated the principle of the PCB transport mechanism. Then we analyzed the PCB transport mechanism’ positioning error, and found a way to measure it and compensate it. At the same time, we chose the right motors that can be fit for the PCB transport mechanism. In addition, we improved the clamping mechanism, changing the two cylinders to two cams, in order to prevent interference phenomenon, when the supporting plate went up. This text makes a statement about a new structural PCB transport mechanism of the high speed surface mount machine, which has a better productivity. In addition, it succeeds to solve that the machine can’t mount the very large printed circuit board, changing the situation that the factory can’t accept the orders because of the very large PCB, but to use new machine.
