The surface mounting machine is the most important machine on a production line,it’s efficiency has a decisive impact on the whole line.Before the production of a PCB board.the test of mounting paste must be done. The surface mounting machine is inefficiency because the test of mounting paste last long and cost high.With the development of computer simulation technology, the placement process visual simulation of the surface mounting machine offers an effective way to solve the problem.In this paper, the YAMAHA YV100-Type surface mounting machine is researched.First the mechanical structure and placement process of the machine is analysed,as the basis. Then the software of AutoCAD is used to create3D simulation model of the surface mounting machine and input the models into3Dmax software to generate the3DS files.Third, write applications for OpenGL initialization in the VC++platform.The method of how to input and outoput3DS files is given too. A window interface is built to set and import the parameters, which are used in the visual simulation of placement process of the surface mounting machine. Finally, use the OpenGL function to control the movement of the3D models, and use double-buffering technology to generate real-time simulation lively.So a data-driven virtual surface mounting machine is set up in the computerTo achieve the goal of data-driven, a component database and a mount path database are built in the SQL Server2000software, and, use the ADO mode to query and read the database.To interact with the users, the Windows mouse response function is added, allowing the users to observe the placement process comprehensively and multi-anglely.Then combine to the ant colony algorithm, turning the mounting path problem into the TSP path optimization problems, the mathematical model of the ant algorithm is been establishment and the concrete implementation steps is given.The visual simulation of arm-type surface mounting machine in this paper made some useful attempts to solve the problem of low efficiency in the mounting paste.It provides a feasible way, has some theoretical an practical significance.
