Quartz glass plated with silver is the thermal control layer which is based on thetwice-plated glass. It is also called internationally as OSR, which is "Optical SolarReflector" for short. This material is usually used to protect the spacecraft from thesolar radiation, as the thermal control coating. In recent years, with the increasingrequirements on accuracy of paste, people concentrate on the accuracy as the sameas the efficiency. Therefore, people began to make a research on the machine visionsystem, to achieve the precise edge of OSR chips. Robot and vision systemcombined into each other?which is worthy method for the high efficiency andprecise OSR's paste.In this paper, based on the actual needs of engineering project, detailed researchwill be made on automatic paste of OSR. I will introduce the paper as two parts.Firstly, composition of the visual system and principle of visual positioning will beintroduced. By introducing visual system, the function and application of machinevision have a deeper understanding. In HALCON software, based on the imageprocessing algorithm of Hough Transform, get the OSR edge, and then locate theposition, transfer by the rotation angle. Secondly, based on the control system ofKUKA robot, coordinate system of Robot's Tool, vision coordinate, worldcoordinate system are united by switching to each other. And based on VS2008software platform, by communicate between robot and PC, catch the OSR chips andfinish the precise location.
