Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging has become a new developing trend of radar.It has many characters such as all-weather, all-day, all-time, long-range, high resolution and so on.SAR-GMTI, as a research focus in the field of SAR, is one of basic functions performed by SAR, which plays an important role in both martial field and civilian field.In recent years, with the development of multiple computing technology and internet technology of embedded system, the real-time problem of signal processing of imaging radar has been resolved. The paper first introduces SAR imaging principle and basic SAR imaging algorithms, then design a set of signal processor on basis of FPGA+DSP framework by combining with GMTI technology (3DT processing, CFAR detection and clustering operation) and using DBS imaging technology of SAR imaging.The signal processor consists of two Xinlinx Virtex-5series of FPGA chips and four ADTS201, and each FPGA chip is equipped with a1GB of DDRII SDRAM as external memory. The design of the whole system, taking full advantage of FPGA parallel pipeline operation and DSP high precision floating-point operation, possesses the characters of high effectiveness, high stability, low consumption and expansiveness. The FPGA chip of Xilinx company is provided with rich IP nucleus with high stability and low cost.which will be introduced specially in the third chapter of the paper combining with the key imaging techniques (pulse compression) of aperture radar imaging algorithms.
