Abstract/Summary:
A mobile ad hoc network with the temporary formation is a multiple hops wirelessmobile communication network, which is not dependent on the existing networkinfrastructure. The network can be rapidly deployed in the environment with harshconditions, which could be widely used in military, disaster relief, conference, emergency communications, and so on.In ad hoc networks, due to their nodes’ energy limited as well as its frequentchange of network topology, many protocols which cannot meet the users’ requirementof QoS. In order to reduce energy consumption and guarantee the network’ link quality, this paper implements a ensuring the link-quality of energy-saving QoS routing protocolbased on AOMDV(ELEQoS-AOMDV). The protocol adds a time delay functiondomain in the RREQ packets, and the nodes in the network forward the RREQ packetsafter a delay time, which is generated by the domain. It can achieve the function ofcongestion control. When the destination node receives the RREQ packets, itcomposites its energy and the cache information of the packet queue length to form anew comprehensive cost function and threshold function as the criterion on routeselection. With the use of caching and timing technology, the multiple paths areestablished. When the path is broken in the network, the node before the broken routeuses the next two-hop in its routing table entry to repair the route locally.ELEQoS-AOMDV reduces the frequency of route recovery. Comparing to AOMDVand MRNLM, the simulation results show that not only do ELEQoS-AOMDV extendthe network lifetime, but also in can reduce the end-to-end delay and improve thethroughput of the network.
