RPID(Radio Frequency Identification) is a non-contact automatic identification technology. Because of many advantages, it has wide range of applications in lots of areas, and has broad development prospects. Compared to more mature low frequency and high frequency RFID technology, UHF RFID is a research focus with merits of high-speed identification, long reading/writing distance, high memory capability and so on. As one of the core of UHF RFID systems, Tag chip is required to be low-cost and low power. It is of great significance to research the low-power design of UHF RFID tag chip. This dissertation introduces the concept of RFID technology, the application and prospect. And then, a detailed analysis of EPC Class1Gen2specification which the design based on is given. After introducing the source of power consumption of CMOS IC, the low-power design methodology is summed up. Then the paper presents the overall architecture of the digital circuit, and design and simulation of system units. Finally, the results of functional verification of digital circuit show that the circuit function is complete and correct. After that, logic synthesis is accomplished and the average power consumption report indicates a good effect of low-power design and the power consumption meets the application requirements of UHF RFID passive tag.
