IOT(Internet of Things) is the third wave of the world’s information industry after computer and internet, it has become the focus of the whole society and industry in just a few months. RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) is the core technology of IOT. With so many advantages such as, non-contact, fast speed in deal with reading and writing, long range identification, anti-interference ability, high security etc, it has been widely used in the production, manufacture, identification and many other IOT fields. With the expansion of IOT?s applications, the electronic tags which only meet protocol standards have been unable to meet the growing market demands, the traditional electronic tags combine with sense technology become the new development direction of the industry. This paper design a UHF tag chip which can be used in IOT applications, it is not only compatible with ISO / IEC 18000-6C protocol standards, but also include a switch state detection circuit and a temperature sensor circuit inside, besides leave two sensor interface and a SPI interface outside. The tag chip has realized.Firstly, we introduce the relationship between RFID and Internet of Things, the composition and classification of RFID systems, the research status and development trends of IOT tag chip and RFID technology used in the field of IOT.Secondly, we describe the working principle of RFID-based IOT system, analysis the ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol in details, give out the detailed solutions of the new functions. Then, we propose a feasible architecture of IOT tag chip, and give the system design specifications.Thirdly, we propose the system low-power architecture and design specifications of digital baseband, followed by a detailed description of each module, also give out the simulation and verify results. Then, we use FPGA to verify the digital baseband, and use EDA tools to deal with physical implementation of digital baseband. The whole chip has been implemented and fabricated successfully by using TSMC 0.18μm RF technology. Finally, we record and analyze the test results by testing. The test results indicate that the functions and properties of the digital baseband are as expectation.
