Since the introduction of modern project management theory inChina in1984, project management has been applied to all walks of lifewith the coming era of knowledge economy and the rapid developmentof high-tech industries. It will become or has become the most valuablemanagement model in the new economic era.Effective project management is a necessary condition for projectsuccess. Different from traditional projects, the network integrationproject has the following characteristics: i) the rapid development of thetechnology; ii) diverse and changing demands; iii) the technology isemphasized while the management is omitted; iv) the result isemphasized while the process is omitted. Hence, the projectmanagement technique for network integration has its particularity. Thisthesis provides an in-depth analysis of network integration projectmanagement. In consideration of the above questions, the author hasproposed a possible solution using the project management theory.Moreover, the author has applied the proposed method in the applicationof the campus network transformation project and has obtainedsatisfactory results. The techniques and solutions introduced in the thesiswill provide a useful reference for network integration projectsespecially the campus network transformation projects in the future.The thesis firstly introduces the related project management theoriesand techniques. Based on the analysis on the characteristics of thecurrent campus network transformation projects, the feasible projectmanagement methods which are suitable for such projects have beenproposed. Finally a practical example, i.e., a campus networktransformation project which the author is in charge of, has beenanalyzed. Detailed description of the procedures in every stage, the specific measures employed and the corresponding results achieved havebeen given. The successful completion of the project has demonstratedthe feasibility of the proposed method.
