Design And Implementation Of A Multi-purpose Vehicle Traveling Data Recorder

In recent years, with the accelerated process of China’s economic developmentand urbanization, China’s auto industry has been rapid development, but also facedwith frequent traffic accidents, responsible for the accident identified the plight of thelack of first-hand information.At the same time, the sharp increasing of car quantitybrings serious traffic congestion, fuel waste, environmental pollution problems and soon. Develop a kind of multi-purpose vehicle data recorder, which have navigation,video (picture) real-time transmission and intelligent scheduling is the foundation ofmany countries’s intelligent transportation system.This paper discusses the design and implementation of multifunctional vehicledata recorder which supporting ITS. First of all, this paper analyses the vehicle datarecorder in the domestic and international application background and the presentsituation, makes sure the structure of this project is the ARM and Linux embeddedoverall solutions, and discusses on the reason and aim of the hardware to systemselection. At the same time, in order to strengthen the function of the recorder, systemincreases the GPS, camera,3G, and other modules, realizes the real time positioningof the vehicle, real-time image acquisition and transmission (image way) function.Secondly, the paper designs the hardware circuit of vehicle driving record ondetailed, including the power supply circuit, clocking circuit and data acquisitioncircuit, storage systems circuit, communication circuit, LCD screen interface circuit,3G communication interface circuit, GPS module interface circuit, IC card readcircuit, SD card interface circuit, camera interface circuit, etc.Then, this paper analyses the system software on detailed, introduced theBootLoader and U-Boot porting, and embedded Linux kernel successfully portted tothe target platform. This paper writes the driver program in bottom of LCD,speedingdetect,SD card,IC card, etc. At the same time this paper researches on the applicationfield, definites the data structure,writes the data processing diagram and the GPS datareading program based on Linux.At last, the whole subject in the research and design of work are summarized,and the prospect of further related work.
