Nowadays, the smart phone are working at WCDMA mode. So it isimportant to research how to optimize WCDMA Cellular Phone RFperformance,3GPP has strict requirement for Cellular Phone, so that allCellular Phones must meet to3GPP Specification requirement.For RF transmitting performance, the RF performances which we aremost concern about are max output power, ACLR(adjacent channelleakage ratio), PA current consumption and efficiency. For RF receiveperformance, the receive sensitivity is our the most concern. But theseperformances are also restricted each other. I will research how to improvethese RF performances from circuit design, PCB layout design and circuitdebug and find the balance point.Of course, it is also very important for some other RF performances,such as spurious emission, frequency error, EVM, ILPC(Inner Loop PowerControl), Phase discontinuity. I will also research how to improve these RFperformances.For a RF system which has good RF performance, hardware design isvery important, however, software RF parameters tuning is also important.I will aslo research to improve RF performance by calibration andcompensation ways.My research is based on the development of Broadcom WCDMAsmart phone reference platform BCM21553, all experiment data is fromactual test result.
