Distance education belongs to a very important field in wide band under theguidance of instructional and psychology theories. Depend on the networkcommunication platform of the information and multimedia technology, it can greatlysupports variety teachers’ teaching modes, students’ learning and perceives. With thepropose of realizing the teaching content of the digitization and learning toolinformatization. Introducing digital technology in teaching environment has alreadychanged the original relationships among the teachers, teaching materials andteaching medias in traditional teaching mode, It’s also changed the relationship amongthe teachers, teaching contents and students. It plays an important role in theoptimization and the development of this kind of traditional education views andmode, and even the whole education system. It also builds a new kind of learning andteaching modes.This thesis studies on concrete functional framework of FMS streaming mediaserver, and has a discussion on communicating protocol used, how to communicate onnet based on FMS linking object, together with the practical method of how to linkFlash Remote MX and Web server to relevant data base. Firstly, it proposes thenecessity and advantage of the development of long-ranged information system of netteaching application by FMS technology via topic on streaming media technology ofmain stream media currently, the relative transmitting method applied, businesscategories as well as applied protocol. The essay lays an emphasis on design andrealization of online teaching mode in streaming media, which is the main one oflong-ranged teaching system. Combing concrete characteristics and merits of FMSstreaming media technology, it discusses on communicating way of client. And it putsvoice and video communicating by using data stream and common subjects. Finally, itoffers a design about long-ranged reliable teaching information system, whoseconstruction includes client end, server and data management system, and relevantfunctional design by the practical needs of the clients.
