| Streaming media technology adopts streaming transport method which means "playing while downloading". This makes not only startup delay time shorter, but also cache less requirement. What's more, it owns other characters such as synchronization, identity, and controllability. Because of all of the merits above, streaming media technology are widely used in internet multimedia news release, on-line broadcast, internet advertisement, electronic commercial, video-on-demand, distance medical, internet station, distance education and real time video meeting. Application system, international standard and fundamental research of streaming media are being the focus of industry and scientific research institution recently. Therefore, it's significant to research on both theory and application of streaming media technology through designing an application system.In this paper, a Streaming Education System which could used in low-cost condition was established, and it based on the thought of Teaching Components Division, according to the discuss of basic principle and application in multimedia network teaching of streaming media technology, as well as the characteristics and developing condition of Streaming Education System. Such system, using pure-software implemental method and Windows Media Technology as the supporting technology, could provide teaching service to users by different subsystems. Streaming media server is the most important part of streaming media system, so we pay more attention to it's design. Through comparing the current several system solutions of the Streaming Media server, we select the cluster system solution to build our courseware stream media server. In our cluster stream media server. we join the serve cluster technology and SAN technology together, and use the Network Load Balance(NLB)technology to balance the workload in the cluster, and also use the Windows Media Technology to accomplish the stream media management. |
