Design And Realization Of Streaming Video Online Teaching System Based On Streaming Media Technology

In recent years, the state colleges and universities are expanding and developing very rapidly, which results in the shortage of teachers and equipments. To break down the traditional teaching constraints and achieve unlimited educational resources and teaching methods, the utilization of network resources to supplement teaching has become an important direction in educational reform. This thesis analyzes the actual cases of network teaching at home and abroad, and also studies the Flash Media Server based online teaching system, which utilizes the streaming media technology.The following are major contributions of this thesis:1. We review the history of long-distance network education and summarize the advantages of network courses. Supported with researches at home and abroad, we analyze the problems in current long-distance education.2. With studies of the network deployment of Flash Media Server, we work out a network topology structure that better fits the streaming media and also provide a tentative solution to the splitting technology.3. We pay much attention on the developing model of Flash Media Server and design the online teaching module based on streaming media technology, which targets to explore more advantages of Flash Media Server and fully utilize the interaction between Flash Media Server and Flash clients.4. We propose a method of combining Flash Rich Clients and the current .NET backend technology, and also develop client-end Flash streaming player and chatting components.This thesis comprehensively discusses the streaming media technology based online video teaching system, including requirement analysis, structure designing, database designing, and streaming media service designing, which will give certain reference to the design and application of streaming media-based online teaching and Flash-based client components.
