We believe that software quality improvement should start with improveprocesses, adopt a scientific R&D process improvement method is the only way for thedevelopment of modern software enterprises.CMMI is mainly used to guide software enterprise to improve their softwaredevelopment processes. CMMI integrated a lot of outstanding practices in many areas insoftware development. It indicated the direction to improve. Every different organizationshould have different implementation method.Hereby, we will use a foreign-owned enterprise named T3S in implementing CMMI onAutomatic Fare Collection system projects as an example to present the processimprovement strategies, methods.Process improvement will be managed as a project. The implementation can be dividedinto the following five stages: system diagnosis, project planning, quality systemestablishing, training, implementation and appraisal. We will hire a professional consultingcompany to help us providing the diagnosis, the EPG members will establish PI plan basedon the findings, including appraisal scope and improvement goals and organize teammemebers and get the support of the management. To establish the new quality system is mainly according to the requirements of the CMMI process model, also including thenecessary soft and hard infrastructure. We need provide training for people for the newquality system and choose several representative projects as the pilot project. Finally wewill ask qualified appraiser to appraise our software process improvement capabilitymaturity.The new process in practice by validation and continuous improvement and extendedto all projects in our company.
