The Research Of A New Software Process Improvement Implementation Model Based On CMMI For Small And Medium Software Enterprises

Nowdays, with more and more complex software requirements and increasing scale of software, the quality of software production is increasingly difficult to guarantee. Although the software process improvement provides an effective way to improve the software process, however, there are a lot of software process improvement models, which are inconsistent, it has brought great difficulties to the implementation of the organization. If an organization involves in a number of areas and several models are implemented simultaneously, there will be a lot of duplication of work.In 1999, SEI presented Capability Maturity Model Integration(CMMI),which was the improved model of CMM , compatible with ISO / IEC TR 15504, integrated multi-disciplinary, and scalable. So, CMMI is more promising than the CMM model.This article, combined with the characteristics and the actual situation of domestic small and medium software enterprises, proposed a new implementation model based on CMMI for process improvement, small and medium software enterprises in China, expected to implement this model, can effectively control the software development schedule, and improve software quality. This paper, studied related concepts of software process improvement, several software life cycle models and software process improvement models for small and medium software enterprises in China, analyzed status of the process of small and medium software companies, discussed the subject model of CMMI, process areas, representation of the two models and their respective advantages and disadvantages, as well as CMMI process tailoring, proposed a new software process improvement implementation model based on CMMI for small and medium enterprises, which was verified effectively by a case.
