Since wireless sensor network (WSN) is an emerging research area ofmulti-subjects, and it converges several hot technologies, such as the sensor nodes,embedded technology, wireless communication and Micro-Electro-MechanicalSystems (MEMS). The wireless sensor network has a vast application prospect. Asdata being transmitted from the monitor area to the sink node, it is required reliabilityand real-timely guarantee for many applications in wireless sensor network, reliabilityand real-time transmission have become the key issues in wireless sensor network.In this paper, the demand and unique characteristics of the real applications inWSN is analyzed, and the key algorithmic mechanism of existing transport protocolsin WSN is studied. Based on the previous work on transport protocols for WSN, theidea of cross-layer consideration is used, and a new collection transport protocol,QR-CTP (Quality-based and Real-time Collection Tree Protocol), is designed andimplemented, which guarantees reliability and real-timely transmission in WSN.QR-CTP can realizes high reliably and low time delay in the data transmission.The main works in the paper are listed as follows:(1) Summarize the key technology and existing data protocols.(2) Research on the routing mechanism of existing protocol, and summarize thedata transport needs in WSN.(3) Propose the route algorithm of QR-CTP, and then the process of the datatransport is described.(4) Based on TinyOS, realize and evaluate the performance of QR-CTP by rateof receiving packets and transmission delay.The QR-CTP is implemented and realized on TinyOS. As the experiments shown,the reliability of QR-CTP approximates to CTP, both of them share a high thereceiving rate. In comparison with CTP, QR-CTP enhances the real-time performanceof WSN.
