Ethernet is alocal area network technology。IEEE802.3standard take the technology ofEthernet standard.It defines the physical layer connection signal and a medium accessprotocol content.Ethernet technology and the PDH、ATM、FR and other techniques arecompared,with the design has the advantages of simple structure,low price,bandwitdth isexpanded,with flexibility and compatibility etc.At present Ethernet largely replaced itsjioreg domain web standards,is the most widely used network rechnology.User twisted-paicable or optical media,Ethernet can realize high speed data transmitted over a longdistance.With the rapid development of the electronics industry, the design of electronic circuitgradually gets rid of traditional design mode. Using FPGA instead of traditional devicedesign becomes the main trend of the development of the circuit design. Highly integratedfield programmable devices (FPGA) are result of the development of very large scaleintegrated circuits and computer aided design. FPGA in CPLD is develoed on the basis ofprogrammable logic devices,it usually SRAM process with team,has the very hignconcentration,the device from tens of thousands of gate to the density of tens of millions ofdoor before,can complete extremely complex timing and logic circuit function,which is verysuitable for high speed,high density of digital logic circuit.With high integration densityand small size of the FPGA devices, using development platform based on computer,combining design of software and hardware can be achieved, so that to reduce hardwarescale of the digital system design, shorten develop period, improve the design flexibility andreliability.The design background is a combination of Ethernet technology advantage and FPGAnetwork transmission of hardware design advantage.with the FPGAdesign design team,thenet work transmission system can satisy some sonar system for data capacity,long-diatancetransmission requuiements.Use of the network transmission characteristics of FPGA systemand the other circuit seamless connection,already can save space design,and make thecircuit is more reliable.The paper mainly explains from following aspects:1.Represent the development history, current status and future development trend ofthe FPGA technology and Ethernet.2.Explain the fundamental principles of the MAC controller. 3.Explain in detail the hardware and program code of the network transmission designby using FPGA.4.Test the circuit by logic analyzer, and present testing result.5.Summarizes the design of the advantages and subsequent deep into the content ofresearch.
