| With the rise of internation oil prices and financial turmoil in2008, the field ofshipbuilding industry among countries is increasingly competitive. In order to remaininvincible in the fierce competition, the development of China shipbuilding industrymust accelerate, especially to improve the level of ship design and construction. Thedesign of ship engine and propeller matching is closely related to ship security andeconomy, which generally becomes the attention of the global shipbuilding and shippingindustry and one of the important topics of marine science and technology.Systematic analysis of the resistance characteristics in ship sailing, propellerpropulsive characteristics and diesel characteristics as well as their selection methods isconducted. Based on the energy transfer relationship, the compute process for designmethod of ship engine and propeller matching is tidied, which can be programmed bythe flow chart and the sub-flow chart. The design software of ship engine and propellermatching is developed using the GUI tools of the MATLAB software.Firstly, the ship engine and propeller matching of a10,000-ton multi-purposeocean-going cargo ship is carried out to illustrate the core theoretical ideas and usage ofnewly developed design software (see the total flow chart of the software and interfaceprocedure diagrams); the application research of the software is conducted with a200tonnage barge and a36000tonnage bulk carrier, the software design results of the aboveships are compared with documentation, which shows that the software calculation erroris very small and the design results close to the literature are in full compliance with theship initial design requirements.The study show that: the newly developed ship engine and propeller matchingsoftware in this paper is of high accuracy, as well as less demanding of the userprofessional level, easy to use for a wide range of engineering application. |
