For the type of complex assembly such as marine diesel engine, the assembly process iscomplex. So the assembly process design and optimization of marine diesel engine toimprove the production efficiency of enterprises and improve the quality of the product is ofgreat significance. In marine diesel engine assembly process design, assembly sequence,path planning is essential to the process, and they are also the relatively weak process.Based on this, this paper proposed a digital assembly process system, discussed and tried toimprove the current sequence, assembly path planning problems.1. In assembly planning module, this paper introduced a concept of process part, andwith the combination of ant colony algorithm and its improvement, to plan the assemblysequence of the important parts of marine diesel engine-cylinder cover. Introduction ofprocess part can effectively simplify non-linear assembly sequence such as the cylindercover assembly sequence; based on the improvement of ant colony algorithm, cylinder headsequence can be more reasonable planned.2. In path planning module, based on the cylinder head assembly path planning, throughthe use of Tecnomatix digital assembly simulation software with Process Designer, ProcessSimulation module, with orderly study on the cylinder head assembly process allocation,allocation of resources, the assembly environment simulation, and study on the assemblypath planning and then the assembly path collision checkļ¼Œand finally generate thethree-dimensional process files.Based on the above research, in this paper, the marine diesel engine digital assemblyprocess planning system is developed by using VB6.0language, UG NX software andTecnomatix with Process Designer, Process Simulation module. In order to verify thefeasibility and advanced of the system, the system takes the plan of cylinder coverassembly sequence, path planning as an example.
