China is a big country in dangerous chemicals production and utilization. Now the main management of domestic dangerous chemicals cylinder industry is identification and record manually. The poor management led to dangerous chemicals cylinder mistaken identification which caused gas mixing, wrong gas loading or discarded cylinder overuse. It’s highly to cause an accident threaten to people’s life and property seriously. It could improve dangerous chemicals cylinder management status, prevent and decrease accidents and standardize dangerous chemicals cylinder market order to introduce RFID technology. Meanwhile it could achieve indeed dynamic supervision of dangerous chemicals cylinder and improve personnel’s responsibility and work efficiency.The paper is based on the Shanghai municipal bureau of quality and technical supervision project of millions of dangerous chemicals cylinders electronic tag (RFID) system upgrading and modification. It expatiates on the reader’s design and development based on TRF7960and STM32F103VC. It introduces RFID system background meaning at the beginning after researched RFID latest domestic and overseas trends based on lots of technology data. Afterwards it describes RFID system composition, principle and so on. Following it emphasizes on electronic tag reader’s software and hardware design and PCB realization. Hardware part mainly includes design of MCU control module, RF module, serial communication circuit, antenna and so on. Software part mainly includes design of RF program, communication program between channel and upper computer and so on, manly introduces touch screen realization. It summarizes and put forwards some future research points at the end.
