Weak signal detection is a comprehensive technological subject that collecting the electronics, physics, computer and information theory.It detects the faint useful signal which is submerged in the noise through analyzing the generation rules and reasons of noise, studying the characteristics and correlation of the measured signal. The digital multi-point signal averager designed in this article is a weak signal detection instrument used for reproduced the "useful signal "which is "covered" in noise and interference.This paper analyzes the working principle of multi-point signal averager, gives the relevant parameters and indexes from the point of view of an experimental teaching instrument, and gives a design scheme of digital multi-point signal averager based on FPGA. System takes Xilinx Spartan-3E series XC3S500E-PQ208chips as the core, develops related hardware circuit and designs a multi-function signal source which is used for assisting experiments on multi-point signal averager. The design uses the integrated development tool ISE and the correlation arithmetical IP core and the embedded PicoBlaze soft nuclear microprocessors, achieves functions with the VHDL hardware description languages and assembly language. In this paper, system also attaches the experimental test result and the results show that:the equipment has a good human-machine interface, easy to operate, the SNR of the signal is improved through multiple synchronous accumulattion to the repeated signal drowned in the noise and plays a part in experimental teaching.
