This dissertation does research on the algorithm of the complex background and noises compression in IR images as well as its real time system design and implement. The main contents of the dissertation are as follows:1. This dissertation advances a efficient algorithm which is used for background and noise suppression based on WGOS according to analyzing and studying real IR images. Because the noises in IR images changes slowly and its frequency components con- centrate on the range of low frequency. The WGOS is used to suppressing background and noises. Just for the three origin images in this dissertation, the global threshold in the algorithm is enough to divide up targets from the background. The binary image that including the information of the target is output which provides data for the next process. However, this dissertation does research on the algorithm that a local self-adapted threshold is used to adapt more complex background.2. In the real time signal processing systems, the processed data in the preprocessing algorithm of the IR images is excessive and require high speed operation and almost impossible to complete it by software; but it is simple in operation structure and suitable to be implemented by FPGA. This dissertation researches the implementation of the algorithms based on FPGA and explains how the algorithm is implemented by VHDL through several module.3. This dissertation analyzes the circuit and validate the validity of the preprocessing algorithm, at the same times, it finish the design of the sampling of video signal. The examination indicates the preprocessing algorithm is realizable and effective.
