With the development of railway transportation,the running security of locomotive has become more and more important,the railway sector on the requirements for the stability, safety and reliability of safe monitor device on locomotive are higher and higher.The existing LKJ2000locomotive monitoring equipment which based on X86architecture,along with ex-tensive application and further acceleration of the railway, some defects of the moitoring system gradually emerge,therefore,it is necessary to develop a more reliable,more stable product to solve these problems.In this paper,the overall design plan of locomotive monitoring equipment based on ARM and QNX has been proposed according to the current situation and demand of the locomotive monitor equipment,combined with the feature of ARM microprocessor and QNX embedded operating system,at the same time,reserching and realizing its specific functions.Firstly,with the detailed analysis of the locomotive monitoring equipment situation at home and abroad,the characteristics of the existing locomotive monitoring equipment and the defects of the existing locomotive monitoring equipment which based on X86archit-ecture. Then,the process of realizing the monitoring equipment which based on ARM and QNX are described in this article,the realization of the syetem includes both hardware and software.The core of hardware part is the minimum system which consists of ARM, Flash, SDRAM and so on, according to the needs in the external expand some debugging interface and industrial bus interface;in the part of software,the focal discussion point has put on the process of migrating Bootloader,kernel,file system of the QNX embedded operating system and device driver;in addition,it also introduces the use of VHDL language realization the logic control function of CPLD.This paper also introduced the system’s display part of dual redundant screen,analysising detailed of the circuit schematics which uses SCM to control the digital tube display and writing the driver program of digital tube.After the prototype commissing has been completed,in accordance with the test method on the prototype,including Ethernet test,voice broadcast,RS232/RS485test etc.Combined with the rail-standard for rail-product,the prototype has a variety of reliability test,including high and low temperature test,ESD test and pressure resisting test.Then,according to the test in the problems of the products,through research,analysis and discuss,a further modification and optimization of the product.Finally the test shows the locomotive monitoring display system based on ARM and QNX possesses strong reliability,stability and real-time,can promote in the whole road,it has great market potential.
