The rapid development of traffic infrastructure construction has raised higher and newer requirements of information integration and management. There are many problems in existing highway information management system, such as difficult to filing, old form to display, lacking of analysis function and sharing mechanism. It is hard to meet construction unit and operation management unit’s requirements of information management, query and analysis.Comprehensively based on theories and methods of highway design, WebGIS, application plug-in framework technology and Web3D rendering engine technology, this thesis explores key issues such as highway information management, inquiry, analysis and visualization for network. The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1) This paper puts forward Highway Information Modeling which unifies information of design, construction and operation management to avoid scattered of information source which causes non-value adding work, friction, data losses and errors.(2) This paper separates topographical geomorphic, highway design information and construction schedule data, engineering change data. Based on the combination of static and dynamic layer, Highway WebGIS Information Platform is developed.(3) Based on MVC design patterns, this thesis puts forward the MVCPF plug-in framework and present Highway Web3D Information Platform based on B/S architecture. Moreover, the technical combination of PagedLOD technology for mass terrain data, dependent simplification, data caching and compression has been used to present the mass model data transmission and rendering over the network.(4) Applying the above mentioned methods and techniques, the author developed Highway Information Integration System based on WebGIS and Web3d. And the above system was applied to the construction and operations management of Li-Cha Highway, Guang-Ba Highway and Qing-Lan Highway.
