In the new generation of avionics systems, because of the great demand for thetransmission of huge amount of data, such as voice and video, etc, the currentwidespread bus protocol MIL-STD-1553B is unable to fully satisfy the requirements fornew systems’ high performance. At the same time, high bandwidth, highanti-interference ability and high load capacity have become the main characteristics ofthe new generation of high speed data bus. Fiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553bus protocol is designed to transplant MIL-STD-1553B protocol into FC networkprotocol, this helps update the communication equipments of current avionics systemsmoothly. It’s surely that Fiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553will become thecommunication bus of next generation of avionics systems. The main work describe in this dissertation is listed as below:Firstly, the history and current state of the technology of Fiber channel areintroduced in the introduction part, then the data format and transmission characteristicsof MIL-STD-1553B are described, then details about the hierarchy of the Fiber Channelprotocol, type of service, topology and frame format are introduced, At last, thecharacteristics of the various components of the Fiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553network are analyzed.Secondly, this thesis proposed a design method based on the global cache, and thendescribes the terminal storage management mechanism of the NC and NT in the FiberChannel Avionic Environment to1553network.Thirdly, after research on the Fiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553andFC-FS protocol, hardware design based on FPGA is proposed, and the key modules ofthe system are presented in detail. At the same time, the function of the NC and NTFiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553network are realized in this thesis. Thecorresponding operating mode can be set through finishing corresponding configurationbased on the application needs. The system not only achieves terminal function, but alsorealizes the mapping from MIL-STD-1553B protocol to Fiber Channel AvionicEnvironment to1553protocol. Finally, a set of transmission tasks are run on the hardware system described above. The simulation results verify the correctness of the system function, and test thesystem’s the performances. The design work in this thesis provided some reference forthe Fiber Channel Avionic Environment to1553protocol chip design and development.
