With the rapid development of micro-electronics and network technology, military avionics system has entered into a new era. Although MIL-STD-1553B bus has in a long time acted as a aviation / aerospace electronic systems'main data bus,its 1Mb / s data transfer rate cannot satisfy the requirement of current aviation / aerospace electronic systems. At this time, Fiber Channel arises, leading a new trend of the aviation electronic network development. FC-AE-1553 uses Fibre Channel, which possesses the features of high transfer rate, low latency, long transmission distance, high reliability, as the underlying medium and upper map MIL-STD-1553 protocol. Further, FC-AE-1553's compatibility with the existing MIL-STD-1553 terminal equipment, improves network communications capabilities and network structure, making it become the optimum option to upgrade from the old network smoothly.This paper in-depth and detailed analyzes avionics bus protocol standards (including MIL-STD-1553, Fibre Channel standard protocol suite, FC-AE, FC-AE-1553 protocol), and proposes a FPGA embedded Power PC core architecture of the FC-AE-1553 with the combination of domestic and international studies of R & D FC-AE-1553.This system architecture, with the designs of the underlying transmission channels in the FPGA and the usage of parallel processing hardware features, increases the maximum data transfer efficiency and achieves the FC-AE-1553 2G / s transfer rate. In the mean time, the Power PC processor core embedded FPGA chip, connect the processor nodes directly to the FPGA logic and storage arrays, which provides superior flexibility to complete complex FC-AE-1553 protocol management functions in the software. In addition, the Power PC processor, which uses CoreConnect technology, has high-speed PLB and low-speed OPB bus, and enables users to design their own functional IP access Power PC via the bus. So even if FC-AE-1553 protocol be amended in the future, it can be easily modified and extended based on the original software model.In the process of design and implementation of FC-AE-1553 bridge, the protocol conversion is fulfilled and the MIL-STD-1553 bus is connected. In this case, there builds a well functioned channel for data communication between the two networks.
