In optical fiber communication technology field, light is the carrier ofinformation and fiber is the transmission medium of light wave. Its birth anddevelopment is an important revolution in the history of telecommunications.Comparing with the previous electrical communications, the Optical FiberCommunication has many advantages : bandwidth transmission frequency; largecapacity communication; low transmission loss, long-distance relay; materials cheap,resource conservation; insulation, strong anti-electromagnetic interferenceperformance; high corrosion resistance; strong anti-radiation capability and so on.This subject has completed the study and implementation of Fiber Channelinterface adapter by the method of combining software with logic, on the basis of thestudy of optical fiber communication protocols and transmission characteristics ofoptical fiber.In this article, the content can be divided into two parts such as logic design andsoftware design. Logic design aimed to build up a specific underlying transportplatform for the underlying security of the high-speed data transmission. The maintask of logic was PCIE hardcore control, the upper data transfer package, FC linkinitialization, ROCKET IO's send and receive data control. The design frameworkof the whole logic included sending module,receiving module,PCIe control moduleand link initialization module. Software design can be divided into two parts: the FCprotocol functions and software systems. The main task of software was completedthe upper application and GUI interface with making use of VC platform, andachieved the interaction driver between the upper and lower by using WinDriver inorder that the host side could transmit data high-speed based on FC protocol. Thedesign framework of the entire software include d GUI module, device abstractionlayer module, task processing module, protocols and physical function modules andframe management module.This study provided a reliable solution, which solved effectively the technologybottleneck about the fiber channel transfer at the interface. It would play a guidingrole for the subsequent relevant interface adapter design, with a high practical value.
