University Library Into Iso9001 Standard Research In China

ISO9001standard was adopted as a management tool by many university libraries in the western countries, and had shown its advantages in the early1990s. ISO standard was introduced to the libraries in some colleges in our country, but the number of the university libraries qualified by the ISO9001standard as independent individuals is still small until now. Some researches are done as follows based on the analysis of the related documents.(1) The meaning and feasibility are discussed in this paper and the importance of the8quality management rules act as guiding principles for the quality management tools of the higher education libraries is also analyzed base on the discussion of the appearance background, the content of the existing standard and its shortage and advantage. It’s pointed out that the biggest problem hindered the introduction of the ISO9001standard to the modern college libraries is the poor understanding of the standard.(2) Professional interpretations of the ISO9001standard (2008version) are done in the aspects of the overall requirement, the documentary requirements, the management responsibilities, recourses management, product realization, based on the Library science and the deeply understanding of the core idea of the quality management, which provide good references for the popularization of the standard in the libraries in our country.(3) The procedure of the introduction of the ISO9001standard to the college libraries are constructed. The construction procedure of quality management in higher education libraries is divided into such4process, as System Plan, Document Compiling, Trial Operation, Operates Formally and qualification, which can also be divided into several smaller stages, and then the quality management can be constructed step by step. A university library in Xi’an is chosen as the study object, based on the existing situation, the construction of quality assurance is illustrated in this paper.
