Image of the city is both an objective existence, is a subjective feeling and understanding of people’s minds. It is generally believed that the city’s media image refracted through media reports, is the most informative basis of the interpretation of a city’s image. Is generally believed that the media image of a city is basically consistent with the image of the city, so to explore the city’s media image analysis, to be more clear understanding of a city’s public image, and then to the public image of the construction or respond.Order to Ordos for example, analyzed from the number and text, and general news events and breaking news events, and then come the Ordos city’s image.In the quantitative analysis,the first chapter of this paper to select three types of online media as a sample object, including the major news sites in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the national news sites and overseas news websites. The news sites have two common characteristics, the authority and objectivity, more comprehensive coverage and readership. Thus, this paper draw the current image of Ordos.About general news events, in the second chapter, first, from the perspective of quantitative analysis, classification analysis on Ordos economic, social and cultural aspects, then draw the image of Ordos economic, cultural image and social image. And then from the point of view of the text, reproduced in the online media news reports on the Ordos analysis, and then draw the image of the city of Ordos in the outside world.For the analysis of breaking news events, in the third chapter from breaking news stories of the origins, development, climax, fall time course analysis of obtained image of the city of Ordos.Finally, a region in the media is reflecting the image of the city, are not perfect, the same will be insufficient and negative. Then, reflecting the negative image of a region in the media, local government how to use the media deal with? This is the last chapter.
