Design And Implement Of WLAN Network Topology And Performance Management

Wireless LAN is the product of the combination of computer networks and wireless communication technology. It uses the wireless multiple access channel technology to support communication between computers, which brings the characteristics of mobile, personalized and multimedia applications. In short, the difference between WLAN and LAN is that the WLAN is not using the traditional cable to provide the same function. In the broad sense, WLAN means that all devices collected by wireless media in the network in some region. The IEEE802.11series of WLAN protocols have the trend to become the standards in the field of WLAN industry, and it is generally believed that wireless LAN refers to a wireless network to follow the IEEE802.11series of protocols.This paper is in the context of the widely used of WLAN. According to the WLAN NMS requirement, based on the SNMP protocol, we design and realize the WLAN network management system for wireless network devices (mainly AC and AP). The whole system includes:configuration management, fault management, performance management, security management. The physical devices in the WLAN network have been abstracted as the network elements. The system can manage these network elements in the service and client side, which indirectly achieve the purpose of manage network entities.The main content of this paper include the following three aspects:Designed and implement the overall architecture of the WLAN network management system and each of the major functional blocks; introduce the core functions of each component and flow charts; at last, a brief description of the system startup process.Design and implement the topology management in WLAN network management system, the topology management is going to search and display the wireless network equipment within the management domain, which is easy for managers to visually see the devices topology connection.Design and implement performance management in WLAN network management system. The performance management is going to complete the data collection and processing work, including the data collection of network elements, the KPI performance indicators calculation, etc. In addition, the system also implements the report management and threshold alarm mechanism.
