Due to the network expansion, enterprise management system implementation, enterprise server rapidly increased in number, quantity, has many special characteristics such as, the traditional server management has been unable to meet the application requirements. In addition, for the server requires long-term stable operation, it will produces great power consumption.Intelligent platform management interface specification is to solve different server management problems, through the specification of centralized management, can carry out different brands, different types of server server, in order to enhance the reliability and stability, access to the vast number of hardware manufacturers and user support. However, the energy conservation, the specification does not involve.This paper firstly server management in the domestic and foreign research status were introduced simply, and introduced the IPMI specification details, along with a discussion of the existing hardware energy-saving technology, and put forward through the IPMI protocol to dynamically adjust the running state of the system to achieve energy saving goal.Based on this goal, this paper developed the intelligent server power management platform. On the platform, first of all to achieve the standard IPMI management module, it can remote management and control server. At the same time, also based on the unique standard specification, implementation resource of system sensor, through this sensor, to dynamically adjust the related server running status.Finally, the article still two different clusters of similar systems, introducing the research results, to examine the practical energy saving effect. Through the test result, we can see, in a cluster environment, can reduce the operational staff work pressure, and can greatly reduce the power consumption, thereby improving the service life of the equipment, and reduces the equipment operation cost.
