Wireless sensor network, which is one of the research focuses in the area of internet of things,can monitor and collect data from the relevant object. In this paper, the wireless sensor nodes areused in the electronic buoy helping the buoy to collect more navigation aid information, it is ofgreat significance for water traffic safety, water environment, fisheries, marine resourcesdevelopment, national defense construction and so on.The research object of this paper is the wireless sensor network based on the technology ofZigbee. By analyzing the protocol stack and the relationship between the layers, using thenetwork simulation software NS2, the advantages in the energy consumption of the Zigbee’sIEEE802.15.4protocol compared with the IEEE802.11is analyzed. Besides, after the study ofthe existing routing protocol LEACH, an improved protocol is propose. The results of simulationand analysis demonstrate that: compared with the original protocol, the improved protocolobtains an obvious advantages in the energy consumption and time delay. At last, the protocol ofthe improved routing algorithm is transplanted. Experimental results verify the feasibility andperformance of this improved protocol.
