China is a large maritime country. There is a huge demand for professional and technicalpersonnel. It means the training of the crew becoming more and more important. There is a largenumber of college students in sailing school need pre-service training every year, and a numberof the working crew also need training to improve their skills. Traditional physical type simulatormakes a real simulation of ship equipment and the environment, and so leads to a high-qualitytraining, but it needs expensive equipment, long debug cycles, and the training attendance andtime is limited by place. All of the shortcomings above decide the traditional type of simulator isnot an effective approach to give students training. Pure software simulator can overcome theseshortcomings. So there is an important practical significance to develop new types of puresoftware simulator as a training method to meet market demand.This article describes a flexible applying of configuration and network technology in shippower station simulator, to develop a pure virtual software marine power station operatingsystem. This system adopts a simple and flexible configuration software PIMS as thedevelopment environment, the SQL Server2008database, as the technology platform to supportthe simulation of power station. The developed system not only has the function of the traditionalship power station simulator and on this basis has also increased the automatic examination andevaluation functions and network operations functions. The examination and evaluation systemexcludes the impact of subjective factors, and fairly, justly displays the true results of the trainingstaff. It can also provide an operating record inquiry function for the training personnel in orderto analyze the cause of the error operation, so as to fill the leaking knowledge in ship powerstation. Training of personnel is not longer constrained by time, place and person-times. Only bybrowsing the website can they operate in the form of virtual simulation of ship power station.The system can conveniently combine features with physical simulators.The developed marine power station virtual operating system has a good interactiveinterface, greater flexibility and is more convenient for secondary development and also has alow economic cost. The result of training has the same effect with physical training. This puresoftware simulator has a good market value and application value.
