H∞ control theory is a kind of powerful tool of analyzing and designing uncertain system, which can solve mainly control problems of control quality worsening due to the error of object modeling and model perturbation within a certain range. This paper makes researches on the application of H∞, control theory in ship power station, emphatically works out the special control problems in the diesel-generator set control system of ship power station. It is the first time to use H∞ control theory in designing diesel-generator set control system of ship power station with the method of mixed sensitivity optimization on the base of analyzing and researching into the mathematical model of diesel-generator set in detail in this paper. It is the first time to put forward the control scheme of applying H∞ control theory to control diesel-generator set of ship power station synthetically and a satisfied result is obtained.The mathematical model of diesel-generator set in the mechano-electronic transient process is proposed in this paper, the pulsation and delay of diesel torque are analyzed, the relation between diesel torque and diesel rotational speed together with injection pump rack bar displacement is described exactly. The motion law of diesel-generator set is revealed all-sidedly and nonlinear problem of diesel-generator set is settled by piecewise linearzation method. The mathematical model of synchronous generator in the electromagnetic transient process and load of ship power station are given in this paper.The mathematical model of diesel engine speed regulation system of ship power station using H∞ controller is first advanced in this paper. The general steps of H∞ optimization design are given. The mathematical model of diesel engine speed regulation system is built. The design of H∞ controller for diesel engine speed regulation system is transformed into a mixed sensitivity problem. State space realization of generalized object is expounded. The selection method and characteristic of weighting function are proposed. The uncertainty of diesel model is analyzed in accordance with the control object of diesel. The weighting function is selected rationally. The mathematical model of diesel generalized object is set up. A simple controller of low order is got by means of finding the solution of Riccati equation. The demands of system property and system robust stability are satisfied after examining the function of controller. A mathematical model of mixed sensitivity problem is used to solve the H∞ control problemsrelated to robustness of system, disturbance restraint and output restriction of controller. The essence of H∞ optimization design method is analyzed in this paper. The main problems that appear in every step of system design are studied in depth.The mathematical model of synchronous generator voltage regulation system of ship power station using H∞ controller is first put forward in this paper. The mathematical model of phase-compounding excitation system, thyristor excitation system and brushless excitation system are given separately. The design of H∞ controller for synchronous generator voltage regulation system is transformed into a mixed sensitivity problem. The uncertainty of synchronous generator model is analyzed in the light of this control object. The mathematics model of synchronous generator generalized object is set up. The influence on result due to parameter perturbation and weighting function changing is studied. The selection problem of weighting function is discussed.
