Nowadays, Virtual reality technology has become a useful tool to research and analyze the world. And the virtual simulation technology based on VR is being increasingly the focus of research. In the traditional ship power station simulating system, there are some weaknesses in the immersion and the man-machine interaction, so establishing the virtual reality simulation of ship emergency power system with high immersion and perfect man-machine interaction is a beneficial supplement to the existing ship power station simulator.This thesis explores the applications of VR technology in ship, and then analyzes their existing shortages. After that, a design and control of ship emergency power system based on VR is finished.In this thesis, first of all, the three-dimensional scene models are established using SolidWorks 2006 on the foundation of the research on ship emergency power system. And then the virtual walk-through function is realized under EON Studio after the scene models is well-handled using 3DS MAX. At last, the virtual simulation system is completed with EonX control under VC++ 6.0. The VR technology and the object-oriented technology are applied in the simulation system to realize the virtual walk-through and real-time interactive control of the ship emergency generator room. Data interaction is strengthened in this virtual simulation system by the combination simulation technology with VR technology. Generally speaking, the main research work includes some aspects as follows:(1) Establish and optimize the three-dimensional models, so as to build up a verisimilar ship emergency generator room virtual environment.(2) Realize real-time roaming in the virtual environment of the ship emergency generator room, including self-motion roaming and controllable roaming. The two different roaming ways and various viewports can be easily selected and changed. (3) Communication between the simulation system and the ship power station simulator was established to complete the interaction between virtual switchboard and the ship power station simulator. On the one hand, the simulation system can keep the same state in accordance with the power station simulator. On the other hand, the power station simulator can be operated by the virtual switchboard in the virtual environment.
