Abstract:Because the flexible graphite sheet (FGS) possesses high chemical stability and is pliable and tough, adhesive and lubricate, it has been widely used in many fields such as petroleum industry, chemical symbol, metallurgical industry and so on. As the material characteristics (high elasticity and easy to break) of FGS and the special characteristics (non-linear, strong coupling, time-varying and strong disturb) of the winding tension, tension control has become extremely important technological sector of FGS winding control system. The precision and stability of tension control directly influence the FGS quality, if tension fluctuates too much in the winding process, the FGS scroll will be loosen or drawn tight, and even broken when tension fluctuates seriously to hinder the continuous production. Therefore, fine tension control is the guarantee of high quality and efficiency. The paper has taken tension control of FGS winding system for research and designed the constant tension and constant linear velocity control system.The research of this paper mainly was based on Hooker’s Law and the theory of dynamic moment Balance, then the mathematical model of the FGS winding system was established in this paper to study the coupling relationship between tension and velocity in the unwinding, drawing and winding zone. Based on the mathematical model, a closed-loop constant tension and constant linear velocity control system with compensation technology with PLC as control center, serve motors as performing components, and load cells as real-time web tension change feedback was selected in the paper.Finally, this paper successfully created the sub-models (such as serve motors, load cells) by using MATLB/Simulink and finally set up the simulation model of the whole winding system after adding PIC controller. The simulation result has proved the constant tension and constant linear velocity control method practicable and useful.
