During the stage of aircraft design, test and validation, the risks of the actual flighttest will be significantly reduced and the experimental spending will be also saved byusing computer simulation technology to research the system performance of theaircraft. The facticity of flight simulation is directly depending on aircraft ontologymodel which as the core of the flight simulation system. Nevertheless, an intuitive andeffective way for flight simulation is provided by utilizing the visual simulationtechnology.This dissertation analyses aircraft ontology model by using6-degree-of Freedom(6-DOF) analysis methods. The modules dependencies, the functions of individualmodules and realization methods are discussed. The date-driven flight animation isestablished in a self-developed3D visual simulation software based on open GraphicsProgramming Interface (GPI).By analyzing the structure of the flight simulation system, the demand analysisfor aircraft ontology model as well as visual simulation system are discussed. Thesimulation method of aircraft ontology is also ascertained and the structure of3Dvisual simulation software with good scalability and maintainability is proposed. Then,the basic characteristics of the aircraft are introduced. Adapting the modularizedconcept, the mathematical models of motion equations module, the aerodynamicmodule, the force/moment module, are proposed. According to these modules, thesimulation models of individual unit are established in MATLAB/Simulink. Further,based on VC++6.0and open GPI, the implement method of3D aircraft model, aircraftplume, topography, the sky and the atomized effects in the software are represented.Besides, some software data receiving methods are also discussed. During theprogramming, some optimization real-time methods are utilized. Especially the smoothtransition of graphics is achieved when dynamic topography display is adapted toenhance the graphic drawing efficiency. Finally, the simulation for6-DOF motionbased on MATLAB/Simulink is tested and the results are qualitative analyzed. Flight animation effect is assessed in the3D visual simulation software by using a variety ofsimulation methods.The aircraft ontology model and the visual simulation software have beendeveloped and assessed. The results show that the ontology model has stronguniversality, and3D visual simulation has high scalability and good cross-platformperformance with low costs. The simulated tests prove that aircraft ontology model canreflect the characteristics of the flight. Moreover, visual simulation software possessesgood instantaneity as well as stability. The3D animations have smooth effect andoperate stably.
